Our Mission

The ACT Online Project bridges the academic and industrial community to ensure that the privacy, reliability, and integrity of the information systems that power our global economy remain intact and secure.

About ACT Online
Adaptive Cyber-security Training (ACT) Online is a state of the art, web deployed, adaptive delivery engine that will teach the latest practices in Information Assurance (IA). This training is provided by the Department of Homeland Security for the prevention of cyber crime and cyber terrorism.

ACT Online is a free government funded learning resource that offers a series of courses (each consisting of multiple modules) that is individualized for the user's current knowledge and skill levels using advanced instructional design and learning technologies complemented by advanced classroom-based instruction. Successful completion of each course results in a certificate awarded by ACT Online that is recognized by ACT Online, University of Memphis and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Introductory and intermediate online training utilize adaptive learning techniques (STAR Legacy) to scaffold curricula and to interactively diagnose and remediate learner difficulties - capabilities reinforced by instructional support services for "human-in-the-loop" interventions and collaboration. Advanced training blends classroom-based learning activities, delivered nationally, with online learning resources.

Our team provides a unique combination of expertise and capabilities and we leverage the background of a successful academic program in information assurance uniquely recognized by DHS. Our national training program uses a comprehensive approach to prepare professionals in identifying assets, assessing vulnerabilities, prioritizing assets and implementing protection measures in cyber infrastructure.
